Marni Harmony: It was about the time… it was when- right after the Mayor of San Francisco started allowing gay marriages and there was the Great Human Pride. And, of course, the whole issue in gay marriage was on the way up… but that was like a real catalyst for action.
 
And I woke up one morning and thought “I…I’ve got to do something here.” And I didn’t go through the usual channels that normally, probably, I…I should have, gone to the board first. I just felt a sense of urgency. So I did a sermon. I think it was the first week in March. It could have been a week earlier, right around then. You know, post Valentine’s Day when there are sometimes witnesses.
 
And right at the end of it I asked anyone- actually, what I said was, “if there’s anyone that’s thinking about having a commitment ceremony, I would like to do a public witness.” And I had a vision for it. And in response, one woman raised her hand and asked another woman if she’d marry her. And it was quite a moment. She said- [end of recording].
